The main objective of the association Ars & Modus is to present and problematize contemporary art and philosophy.
The ongoing project "For the Arts - With the Times" (F.K.I.T.) directs its attention towards the institutional art world. The title, F.K.I.T. opens the doors to the latest trends in contemporary art: social criticism, relational art, investigative attitude, educational ambition and the reflexive component; art studying art.
By engaging neighbours, their friends and friends of friends in producing various art events, the project above all and in practise investigates to what extent the local community might be involved.
Purely educational efforts are mixed with art events.
In addition to the project F.K.I.T. Ars & Modus arranges public concerts, performances, seminars, courses and workshops.
The association was formed on the initiative of the artist and musician Amit Sen with the intention to create a place for experiment and reflection, inspired by the spirit of Fylkingen, a forum for new music and intermedia art in Stockholm. Discussions on education, psychology and philosophy have also prompted the initiative. The association has a pronounced bond to the existential questions of how each and every one of us shape our image of the world.
